David Chapple was commissioned to paint for America's biggest birthday party, A Capitol Fourth 2005! The celebration was July 4th from the grounds of the U.S. Capitol and featured a brilliant evening of musical entertainment topped by a dazzling display of fireworks over the Washington Monument. America's premier holiday event offered one of the most exciting musical salutes to take place on Independence Day in the nation's Capitol featuring memorable patriotic tunes ranging from classic marches to rock 'n roll, country and disco.

The concert aired live on PBS from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol on Monday, July 4, 2005 from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. ET.
